And people can get involved in charities and public service through a different outlet than Sororities and Fraternities. It’s time for them to go. In fact the only reason I think they’ve managed to hang on for so long is because they offer fund raising opportunities for the university from alumni.

But then how are they going to be able to make friends if they can’t pay for them?

There is no good reason to have fraternities or sororities at any college. And don’t tell me about the community service they do. You can do community service and not be in a fraternity or sorority.
