No one is saying the West doesn’t have issues. Issues with racism, economic justice, classism, sexism all abound. But seriously, are you *really* comparing the set of countries run by white Christians and the set of countries run by Muslims? That’s a little rich, don’t you think?

True, and no doubt other religions, Christianity in particular, have had shameful spells in the past, carrying out tons of atrocities. But in the last 100 years or so, you really haven’t seen atrocities “in the name of <insert religion>“ where religion does not equal Islam.

One of my biggest frustrations with the progressive movement is the sometimes-tendency to ignore the fact that there are elements of militant, political Islam that are the antithesis of western values. No, that is certainly not an indictment of all Muslims, 99.9%+ of whom are fantastic, wonderful people.

I said it then and I will say this again, *something* happened to that girl, and anyone can see that this law suit will have a chilling effect on the media reporting legitimate stories. Look - sorry to jump to conclusions here, but we have just seen so many of these cases over and over. And every time if it’s a famous white male or especially an athlete they are not even charged. So he’s innocent? Maybe. But they should at least bring it into a courtroom and let a jury decide!
