I can't stop looking they're so amazing!!!

thank you so much for the pix really turned my morning around

oh my god, I have a paralyzing fear just seeing people standing at the top of regular staircases...like how do you trust yourself not to fall?!?! Especially if people are holding babies/toddlers.

I’m afraid of heights and love Italy. I saw LTOP and decided not to go up it, reading this I am now very glad.

This is amazing. (and hysterical, but that’s just in the skillful retelling)

I am cringe laughing at this SO HARD!!! Your description of the slippery marble bowl steps is spot on! And I refused to go up to the part that had no railings at all, while my 64 year old best friend practically ran up the steps. A lovely couple in their 60s sat on the steps with me commiserating about the lack of

I want to buy you a drink.

i went to pisa on a tour of italy in 2006 and the tower was beautiful, but you couldn’t pay me enough money to actually go up there. i would be right there on the ground with you. heights give me the dry heaves. i went to toronto on a choir trip once and our group went to the CN tower and i took one look at that thing

Aaaand we have a winner.

PS that was 100% me at Grand Canyon. Thank god no cameras.

I, too, suffer from a paralyzing fear of falling. Heights are fine; edges are not. You acted completely appropriately. And if it had been my brother, he may have found himself falling off that damn tower.

Nope. That dude in the orange was just some random stranger that wanted to take touristy scenery pictures on their vacation but ended up getting pictures of some college kid ugly-crying instead.

I love you and thank you for sharing my fear so I don't have to live it.

That’s Pisa off my travel bucket list. This is horrifying. I visited some catacombs in Lima and being from the UK, the spiritual home of health and safety rules, was tickled to see we were, expected to walk over bones and skulls on what I can only describe as a plank. No railings.

I laughed until I cried. Omg. Your brother is a little punk with his practical jokes and his tie-dyed Bob Marley, and you can tell him I said so.

YES. This is the best story! When I was 13 or so my parents took us to Disney world while we were out in Florida for my uncles wedding. Everyone wanted to ride Space Mountain except me and my parents told me I HAD to go and literally yelled and me and pulled me by the arm. They had fast passes and so they got to go

This is the best thing I've read in forever!!! My husband and I just passed those photos back and forth and laughed until our sides hurt. Great story, just great stuff!

More stars for you.

and my brother decided to jokingly grab my shoulders.

Oh, god! I did the same damn thing at some stupid lighthouse when I was a kid. We arrived later than expected and it was dark and scary and the steps up were that rickety open metal and the lookout railing was low and rusty and flimsy. Complete freak out... and I was deathly afraid of heights after that for years! I
