IMO it would be ruder to invite without guest.

Econ 101: You do what you can afford. If you can't invite every person with a guest you invite who you can with a guest.

Yeah I don't like to harp on etiquette because some of it is very not feminist and demeaning for women but things like giving adults guests kind of bothers me. Mr and I didn't invite old friends, room mates, etc. because we provided +1 for every person. We also had the bare essentials as far as wedding stuff.

Etiquette 101: any adult invited to an event is given a plus one.

Boom! I know it is kind of hypocritical to my thing about making assumptions about their marriage based on song lyrics but cherry picking is terrible.

Mr and I just planned our budget so every person over 18 had a guest. It is just kind of what you do around here. It also avoided the idea of as an outside party valuing who was in more meaningful relationships.

She was with the same person for 10 years. Married him in 2008. In order for you to find a quote about her only having been with him you had to look pretty far and wide. Notice a lot of people aren't aware of this "virgin" branding she is supposedly doing. I would then guess she was just being honest about herself

She's only ever had sex with one man (or so she'll have us believe)

She is complimenting. If she was making it a priority it would say priority. I mean cmon it is kind of reaching.

I don't see how talking about helping compliment his bank account can be turned into her taking a back seat in their relationship.

How is she selling this as the only way to be a good woman?

I get agency and ownership of your actions. I also get being human and making mistakes and that she is still a feminist.

This is problematic because now you have issues with feminists that have chosen marriage.

Why do you think Madonna had more ownership of her sexuality and more control?

How is she accepting it as it is?

You had me until you turned around and said the opposite of what you opened with about her having free agency of her body and you tried to you use actions by her husband to devalue her feminism.

Why is that her responsibility to break down the double binary?

How do you feel about Madonna?
