I think that in order to have an argument about something it is very important to be educated on the topic.

There is a BBC show that is available on Netflix called Prisoners' Wives.

It makes it much easier to monitor the prisoner and to keep distance between themselves and the visitor. They discourage or don't allow physical contact between inmates and their visitors. That is why there are so many jokes about conjugal visits.
