@lilybea: I'm just surprised it doesn't have an incredibly positive and masculine term to describe it.

@SalutLaMiss...: I agree with you. This is why you aren't on My Fair Wedding and you do not have David Tutera as your wedding planner.

@Trulymadlyme: I didn't know she actually adopted him in The Blind Side. Yes I live under a rock.

If she is refering to the adoption in the non-featured quote below the one about diapers:

@MagImpalor: I use to get it a bit with my brother. He had a bad knee from baseball and my knee would mysteriously ache whenever his did [without him telling me it was bothering him.]

I see your true colors and thats why I love you!

@herlaststand: It is more criticism of the show than the women. That was what I got from the reading.

@Kia: It is more of snark at the idea of a contest putting women against each other to lose weight under the thinly veiled disguise of wedding er ugh health.

Bitch you and I aint buildin no bridge.

@1girl: A good portion of people look back and think "God what was I thinking!? I shouldn't have done ___." The wedding planners goal is to minimize that future reaction.

@GreyCat: Yes. I just posted a huge thing about the focus on the ceremony and reception and the lack of excitment for the actual marriage.

@rah29: I can definitely get on that boat.

I have serious PMS weepies and this just made me sniffle at my desk from cute adorable explotion in my brain.

@rah29: I'm demonizing this reality show, not these women.

@PennyFarthing: This is my judgey judgemental opinion but I think it is this obsession with the wedding day. Brides [and grooms] seem to be far more excited for their wedding day than their actual marriage.

The weightloss for the wedding has been around long media reality shows blasting us with images of models in dresses and the "reality" of wedding planning.

@velma: I think House of Brides is a relatively small, semi-local chain. I agree and think the personal stories are important to compare to these pop culture realities. No good sales woman would allow you to buy a bridal dress smaller than your current size.

I think I just heard my mother pop open a bottle of champagne.

@velma: I just had a post about how I was terrified for my first dress trying on experience. I actually left with higher self-esteem than I had entering. It isn't about the shop you go into, it is really about the sales person you get.
