@MagImpalor: I am in tears in my cubicle right now because I am trying not to laugh.

@Le Kangourou de Kataroo: In band we would pretend we won an award and start with a gradual build up of clapping.

@odonata: This makes sense in a recent engagement that I witnessed explode.

@SheelaNaGig: I feel the same way about these types of proposals.

@TheGirlWithTheGoldenEyes: I agree. My future brother in law is planning a surprise party for his gf AND he is planning on proposing at the party. SURPRISE!

I want to share [brag about how awesome Future Mr Banana is]!!!

@ronniedobbs: I think my brain was shaken loose today. I was totally thinking about Amy Poehler for the comment but then I started thinking about Tina Fey and how they must be the greatest fun to hang out with. Wow. I read Amy Poehler too when I posted that.

@Squabble: My cousins kept asking me "but if you knew why were you surprised" in reference to my proposal.

Hey, that isn't Tina Fey...

@shaken.not.stirred: Yes. I posted downthread but I think spectacle proposals are done by insecure men who crave attention.

As someone who was proposed to fairly recently, finding out a ton of people knew prior [especially when they are people you do not care for or know] kind of dampens the special factor.

I really think that the spectacle of the public proposal has something to do with the insecurity and craving for attention of the man proposing.

@beautilation: I went off on my cousin recently when she offhanded went "OMG I am so OCD. I like have to put everything in order." I told her that unless she has difficulty leaving the house or controling basic behavior it is called organized not OCD.

Future Mr Banana will love this. He still quotes the Eclipse analysis.

@bookling: I'll look for it at my parent's house and I'll share if I find it. Who do I submit it to or should I just post it on #groupthink?

@emfish55: There should be a google tab for Relationship History. So if a girl googled him under Relationship History a copy of the note would come up.

@kentuckienne: I'm seriously thinking about it. I copied it, gave him back the original, and saved the copy in case he continued his harrassment.

@stacyinbean: That makes sense. I've had that situation and it sucks because then you become a "bitch" for "throwing it in my face." WTF crazy boys?!

These really make me want to submit the letter I got from my ex. The problem is a big part of the entertainment in it is it is physically typed up and signed.
