Now in my Christian circles I've heard of parents being advised to keep their girls at home until they're married *while they attend college and work their job* so they can save up money and not have to worry about their safety.

I remember when my fiance took me out on our first date. He prides himself in being traditional and he definitely did that. Picked me up, met my parents, took me to dinner, etc etc...he even drove 2 hours from Austin to come pick me up.

@1girl: I really think it depends on the current relationship. Are they the type of person who cares/doesn't care? I say err on the side of caution and even if you disclose some information, don't do it all at once, and gauge reactions per each bit of information.
