I kind of get what they may have been thinking...that the clip-ons could potentially move independently of one another and the forks but if the contestant has clip-ons and it’s a race shouldn’t it be part of the tech inspection? Make sure the tq is at the spec etc.
Think of a mountain bike with the extra bars that go outward that are “clipped” or bolted on at the end. Same difference essentially. Big difference is that on a motorcycle lots of the controls are then mounted on that clip-on (throttle, clutch, brakes, turn signal, starter switch, etc.). There’s more differences but…

I lived in Milwaukee for about 3 years, and this always irked me. I equated it to the Wisconsinites (like most of the US) not accelerating to merge properly, and the people on the highway making space for the mergers.
