That's it, I'm driving my '74 Ghia to work today. I wasn't going to, but you inspired me. :)

@OG_: The Tritec engine is built in Brazil.

It has high-mounted upper hinges on the cargo doors, which ended in November 1960. So definitely 1959 or 1960.

@Murilee Martin: You can see the side window difference right there - It has a later door on it that has the larger window opening.

@hxgaser: It's a '65, trust me.

@mouthalmighty: Rolfe = Ralph in English = slang term for vomiting ... appropriate, nein?

It's a '65. It has the larger side windows and windshield introduced that year, but no center vent in the dash (that began in '66). The pan may or may not be original, but it's got a link pin front beam ('65 was the last year for that), so chances are it is.

She was scary good in it! I remember being pissed off she wasn't more critically lauded. I need to see it again, STAT.

Yeah Nic, what about To Die For? Mind you, it is years since I have seen it but I did watch it more than once. Ah, young Joaquin before he decided to chuck it all in to become a *cough* rocker.

@flyingstitch:Richard Dreyfus drove a yellow one in "What about Bob?"

I remember reading somewhere that the Grand Wagoneer has the distinction of being the last new car sold in the US with a carburetor, in 1991 or thereabouts.

Coolest vehicle of the week, Jalopnik. Bravo.

Absolutely bizarre - I posted that exact same screen cap on a VW forum a few months back. I even though it was mine for a second...

Anything, ANYTHING Chris Bangle has touched.

I have to abstain from voting, but I'm going to give a +1 to Murilee for the Glengarry Glen Ross reference. At least I think it is.

@abgwin: Trust me, that nose is loaded with bondo. The shape of the ridge is all wrong, unfortunately - it's not nearly as crisp as it should be.

E39 owner approves.

I have a wonderful Haworth chair and laptop in my cubicle in Rancho Cordova. Wanna trade?

Sad news indeed. My uncle was a long-time customer of Good Chevy:
