Rick is not a negotiator or a peace maker, and I think he's realized that. His efforts to talk sense into Alexandria did not work out that well, with the town meeting up to decide whether or not to exile him.

Sound of the crash would possibly attract more zombies, or they'd be found by roaming Saviors gangs.

Of course.

Come on, she's married to Glenn.

The accepted breakdown is 1 acre of grown food per person. They don't have 50 clear acres.

Yeah, Tom Payne and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are two very different people. And, I would imagine the Hilltop people have met Negan.

Well, they did have that one problem in the prison when trying to raise some livestock.

Daryl had that thing to do for Denise. That's the reason they made the pitstop.

Nope. Never got that vibe. I didn't think he was trustworthy at first - considering the shenanigans he pulled, but if it were a real bad guy, I don't think he would have gone to the lengths of pulling one over and saying sorry. I think he would have just killed them.

Not really. We were introduced to some of them, and what is their MO? Take all your stuff at the start, typically kill one of you to show we mean business, don't allow you to ask questions or even talk, and then take us to your home so we can see what else you've got.

Certainly - they are setting themselves up for a huge disaster. At least, it sounds like it with their confidence displayed in this past episode. I guess we'll see if they're still overconfident in this next episode.

They are perfectly fine with committing mass murder to those who threaten them - not just anyone they want.

Or, as it happened, one of the Hilltoppers suggests the trading avenue, then brings them to his community to trade. Then they meet the leader, who is a total dick and talks down to Maggie while they are initially working out a trade - pointing out that he's got the upper hand, that they need him more than he needs

Depends on their personal knowledge of growing, and experience. Maggie comes from a farm, and knows about growing vegetables, etc.,, which are typically grown in the spring and summer. I also think they're growing what the Alexandria community has, as far as seed stock, and I don't know that wheat was a part of that.

He's not killing all of them, just enough to keep them scared. He knows they can't fight back, but he knows the leader is the problem. So what does he do? He kidnaps a brother and threatens to kill him if the other brother doesn't kill the leader of Hilltop. And he knows the rest of the Hilltop group is too frightened

So, Rick and co have been almost constantly roaming, except for the brief stays at the RV camp in the first season, the farm, and the prison. Clearly, they will be running into more people and more dangers than communities that have been immobile the entire time.

Maggie's foreshadowing said it all.

Two things - Rick has grown to be more trusting of outsiders because it's necessary. That was one of the big themes over this season's story arc - for Rick. Also, wouldn't you need your most impactful fighters if you were walking into an ambush?

She was getting close to turning. Maybe she was far enough along to, uh, smell like a zombie?
