haha...I generally think I slot betwixt the two. My buddy who assured me that he was an accomplished outdoorsman who showed up at the trail head with an old coleman sleeping bag that weighed 10lbs had no idea what he was doing. He fell into the extremes.

Totally agree, I’ve just gone camping with the dude who cobbled together an ad hoc backpack full of nearly useless stuff. No one had fun that weekend, and I wasn’t allowed to invite friends on backpacking trips for the past couple years. WOMP WOMP.

It’s such a beautiful place. I’ve literally never had a bad time up there.
