“McLaren wasn’t the only company to give a three-seater layout a try.”

“If Ford spend 40% of gross revenue on R&D and another 25% on capital expenditures”

Except they know better and prefer to stay in business 5 years from now.

What is stopping Tesla Motors from increasing Revenue which would bring these percentages down?

Don’t forget “changing the world”. Give credit where it is due! :)

“This is an example of the incredible way Tesla has convinced may people that they are leaders in anything other than being the first one to recognize the market potential for an expensive and fast EV.

Leave some room for X6 and GLE Coupe :)

“ But even if R&D was cut that would only get them to a very small profit. They spent 214 million there.”

If anyone was wondering if the number was pulled out of the ass (p. 6)

Amazon also didn’t have a well funded competition. GM already has made a strong commitment and German 3 are to follow soon.

Agree. Business case is weak at best unless the losses stand to be absorbed by the advertising budget.

It’s only a prototype. Plenty of time left to screw it up until it reaches production (if at all).

Same can be said of Tesla Motors as the iteration they showed the other day is a turd (to put it politely).

“Unlike Tesla, which is working alone to develop full autonomy, Fisker is banking on suppliers like Mobileye and Bosch”

Either Tesla Motors is not working alone or Fisker (via) Bosch will have a big advantage.

Can you expand a little bit on “metric premium”?

Sound reasoning aside the perception among target demographics is the determining factor. You and I might favor Volvo but if the other 8 test subjects favor BMW then that is where the acquirer (ex. Apple) will focus its attention.

“TSLA is worth 3/5th of GM and their chief counsel is Musk Divorce lawyer.”

You forgot the Unicorn and its magic dust. Give credit where it is due :)

Add on changing regulations (ex. CAFE standard).

“You can beat the numbers all day long, as long as the perception is that you’re dying, people aren’t going to want to invest.”

GM needs to identify which brand from its portfolio has the best standing with demographics who are likely to purchase an electric or a hybrid vehicle. Then pour its best effort into R&D and

Lets get it under 3,000 lbs. for starters.

Surely there is room for a Tesla in your life :)

Word of advice: Cut your responses short. You are wasting precious time that could be better spent grooming your beard and/or taking IG pictures :)

Not premium enough. BMW is a better fit in my opinion.

Truer words have never been spoken :)

My impression is that major investors (insiders and outsiders alike) realize there is no substance to TSLA but are looking to milk out the bubble as much as they can before selling. A dangerous game it is.

“Balmer was seen as a joke and laughed at by everyone as he was so uncool yet

“but it would be nice if savings actually started paying money again.”

Just put it in an index fund (ex. S&P 500) that doesn’t charge exorbitant fees.
