Sorry, I'm more interested in the concept of the Gaze and what it means when the male and female forms are put in display. Is it justified by the context of the narrative? Is the manner of execution meant to titillate or discomfort? Is it a gender neutral gaze, a male gaze?

Well, seeing as you responded to a query about the use of nudity in a narrative context (not even with the OP opining about making it uncomfortable, but asking why they reverted to nudity when they had her clothed, suggesting a change in character viewpoint) with more "don't be so sensitive and get over it even though

I think it's more you're just too maverick and cool to grasp the concept of anyone criticizing nudity in this day and age. Tell me, do you, "not see race" either?

Because we've never heard anything about the emotional toll on actors who undertake dark or stressful roles.

/clutches pearls.

I thought Ford mentioned specifically that the robo-family was different.

Oh wait, let me keep going - I mean, it's not like people get awards in categories based around sound in movies and television today, or that certainly has no impact on whatever is playing out on screen, or that even when people can't hear the sound of a piece of media, accommodations aren't made so they better

So, sound wasn't an important development in film at that time, and talking about how the film uses sound isn't pertinent? Or how sound affects the viewer 's experience?

It's a conscious decision by the showrunners/whomever to have them nude. It's a plot point they created.

So empathy equates to condescension? This isn't an out of the blue observation as the show has gone to lengths to emphasize host nudity, and again, this is HBO. Hell, the actress in question have an interview specifically talking about being nude for the role.

Way to be a douchecanoe

Hey, reviewer, thanks for considering how the show uses nudity. Unlike the anywhere from a half to three quarters of the comments section complaining about how they don't see any problems and you must be some repressed prude.

Sorry, use of nudity in an HBO show is kind of something that's earned space to be explored and commented on.

I disagree. HBO's track record with nudity doesn't disappear just because of one series - with only a handful of episodes so far.

Apparently he's running a side business within the company, taking control of hosts and pimping them out for unauthorized, after-hours use by the staff?

Yeah, in the first or second episode, one of the families do mention that across the river is an adult zone, or a higher level danger zone right before they encounter Dolores.

Yeah, I'm surprised things arentba little more sectioned off according to rating. Like, I could see solo adults starting off in Pariah vs Sweetwater, but them you run into the difficulty mode issue.

I hate being dismissive of theorizing, but this. I've never been a fan of needlessly convoluted plots, and timeline shifts feel needlessly convoluted and unnecessary for this show.

I think we've seen and heard families doing just that - we see a family on a picnic with Dolores, we've heard them talk about "twenty families incoming"…

I really like that idea.
