I had been wanting to see Promising Young Woman since the first time I heard about it, and in my view it’s Oscar-worthy. The movie was designed to make the viewer uncomfortable in every aspect, including the way Mulligan’s character is dressed and made up, and the reviewer completely missed that.

My last normal night was my dad’s birthday dinner at the end of last January, which my sister and her family, my cousin and her family, and my partner and I attended.

I’m not sure whether you work in health care, but if you don’t, it’s hard to express how demoralizing it is to be frantically working seven days a week for ten months while Americans actively flout the recommendations made by the CDC and other public health experts.  It really makes you think, why am I doing this?…

Dude has worked for 256 days straight, and has probably had to do a truckload of interviews like this. I’m going to give him a pass for focusing on the things he can actually control and advice about personal responsibility he can give to patients, current and potential.
