Two (maybe three) years ago, the USWNT lost 6-0 to the U-17 mens team. One of the players, I think it was Christie Rampone, but I’m not sure, tweeted about it.

A team of all star high school aged boys (all under 17) played the USWNT in 1999 (the year they won the World Cup), and thrashed them.

I’m not sure if this is a good sign or not, but my biggest takeaway was being more shocked that someone French was trying for Major League Baseball.

I love women’s sports, but a top high school team definitely could beat or very closely challenge the USWNT. Too fast; too strong. The B club team at my university regularly beat the women’s varsity team at my university, and the women were ranked no. 1 in the country.

As frustrating as this is, it’s pretty much true. The top-end athletes for females simply do not have the height, muscle mass, bone length, tendon strength, etc, that top-end male athletes have.
