I don’t know why I care, but I feel like this is the BIGGEST ego boost to Marc Maron’s already skyrocketing ego, which upsets me greatly.....and now I’m annoyed that I have thoughts about this at all.
Marc Maron gives off such creep vibes, so I will have to take a hard pass on listening to this.
Exactly!
Yeah, it reminds me of the This American Life segment that dealt with pretentious readers who wrote in to say they couldn’t listen to several of the regular contributers who are women because of their “vocal fry”. Gimme a break, douchebags. *eyeroll* That said, I’m still a big public radio lover as well. I have so…
I was trying to reply to the article with a comment in this vein but it’s early and I’m having trouble putting my words together good. Basically, I’m getting the vibe of people who feel like their 5 dollar a month donation entitles them to some sort of ownership in the station.
I read a great piece yesterday (which I could find it) that basically said that the listeners were mad because they’re all prissy white people who think they’re above such banal things as knowing who Kim Kardashian is, and the show didn’t kowtow to them and pretend she isn’t immensely relevant to pop culture. Amanda…
Come the fuck on this is the show with the screamy guy from the Police Academy movies, we can’t have one little Kardashian?
You know, I am a big public radio person. NPR all day, every day, not kidding. But I know that public radio fans are also the kind of people who send legit HATE MAIL when someone pronounces an obscure word wrong. And Wait Wait listeners tend to be especially pedantic and cranky. So this does not surprise me.
Devote public radio listeners are the worst. So smug.
Hamilton was really anti-democratic. More than the other founders, he hated the idea of giving votes to anyone who wasn’t really fucking rich like him. Jackson on the other hand advocated for expanding voting rights to even people who didn’t own property, which made him the equivalent of a radical leftist democrat in…
Who told everyone on here the $10 bill is the least used? Out of the 5 primary bills in circulation, the $10 bill makes up around 11% of the total, while the $50 bill is the least used at 5%! Just saying!
A $50 would be cool because it’s more money, but who uses $50s more than $10s?
Huh. That was not how I interpreted that line at all.
I still<3 u.
And the best way to get off heroin is through the sick boy method, he knows a lot about Sean Connery (which i’ll admit is hardly a subsitute for good moral fiber) so it has a pretty good chance of working
(NOT HEROIN)
And I would like to go back to the days when I didn’t know that Mark Ruffalo is a 9/11 truther, but we can’t always get what we want.
