I recognize that virtually everyone loves The Handmaid’s Tale, but I cannot bring myself to watch it because, based on what very little I know, it sounds incredibly unpleasant. I have more than enough unpleasant anxiety from Trump, et al. I cannot willingly seek out more.

Don’t go on THIS trip. Express your concerns, but make it about you being uncomfortable with the idea. Tell them that you love the idea, but you’re just not ready, and that maybe they could plan a future trip, which would be shorter & closer to home, around your concerns.

I totally misinterpreted your query to MD at first. I'm pretty sure that it was intended to be more along the lines of "Hello friend, how are you?", but I initially read it in a "You can't possibly be my friend. Prove to me that you're my friend" sort of way.

Yep. Like I said previously, I didn't actually watch so the only context that I had this morning was this Splinter article & I was amazed by how coherent it made her sound. I've since heard & read more, and yeah, she got a few things right, but she's batshit crazy.

I didn't watch, but I'm truly surprised by reading everything you've posted here. Yes, those answers are correct. It's kind of hard to believe. I would've assumed that she'd have ended up talking about Sea Monkeys or something else equally irrelevant.

Look, it’s no one’s fault (except his mother’s), if Aubrey Drake Graham is so completely ashamed of the kinda feminine sounding first name that his beloved mother gave him that he refuses to use it. On the other hand, perhaps he just avoids using it because he wanted to distance himself from his hokey childhood acting

The werewolf allies of the vampires who are simultaneously attacking the Lone Ranger, Bob Seger, & the silver bullet factories around the globe on their behalf.

Dracula.

Those little Staples 2-pack notebooks are the absolute best! I use them every day for work. This started when I lived & worked just outside of Philadelphia. Then I moved to Canada and Staples Canada doesn’t carry them (they actually did carry them once, but only for ONE particular back to school season), so now I

If what you're saying about the timeline, settings, & characters is true, then I'm much more curious about the potential storylines, but I remain skeptical as to whether or not they can A) pull this off at all; or B) make it good.

I moved at 40. It definitely gets better, but there's still a weird loneliness.

Hi Pumpkin - I’m very curious about that pizza place / bar combo. Can you tell me the name of it? I pass through your part of the country once or twice a year (when I drive down from Toronto to visit my mother in Bucks County) and it sounds like a place that I might like to check out.

Perhaps your experience has been different than mine. Regardless, I personally don’t even see the “need” for this series (no matter who is involved in it). Maybe in another decade or so, but Peter Jackson’s trilogy seems definitive enough for now.

I like beer also.

A “showrunner” must literally run the show. They are ultimately responsible for EVERYTHING, including (but not limited to) the overall direction of the series, the budgeting & the scheduling, as well as the hiring & supervising of the writers, the directors, the cast, the make-up artists, the prop masters, the sfx

It could only be considered racist if only black people were allowed to attend. Does your town have a St.Patrick’s Day parade? Maybe a Greek Festival? A Strawberry Festival? Events that are created to CELEBRATE something generally & which don’t infringe on the life, liberty, or happiness of others cannot typically be

While I love his comics work, everybody tells me that Mike Mignola is an ass as a person. I pretty much think they're right.

I agree with you completely, except for the "I'm with Mignola on this" part.

Don't go badmouthing the MCU (but you're pretty much correct otherwise).

Ummm....Twinkies themselves are awful as soon as you open the package. There is nothing that can be done to them to make them any less awful.
