And I believe one of them had an autobox with drive labelled A instead of D

When I was about 9 my Dad had a CX Familiale that he built out of three broken examples and was missing the middle row of seats so was like a limo. One day a mechanic left a spanner under the bonnet which pulled out a hydrolic pipe that killed the suspension, steering and brakes all at once.

Yup. Normal insurance doesn’t cover it and I don’t think any drivers hitting you would be liable either. My insurance policy (for a UK registered car in the UK) specifically names the Nurburgring as somewhere I’m not insured.

Cheap at twice the price. Got to love old Citroens

In the UK car VW modding scene in the 90s it was common to swap the drivers side mirror for a euro spec passenger side version (both being a right hand side mirror) to have both mirrors small.

It doesn’t seem that long ago you could buy a 400i for less than £10k now they are creeping up. I like the 400 because it reminds me of 70s normal cars but on steroids.

I love these but really missed the boat. Would love a retromod interceptor with modern suspension and the engine out of the dodge demon.

I really feel you. I get this a lot but top answer is the Citroen Xsara Picasso. I don’t have kids and rarely carry passengers or much stuff.

At one time the sports model of that car was one of the fastest 4 door cars on sale because it’s top speed wasn’t limited to 155. But it was only made in FWD

I had 3 cars from the generation before that (Vectra C, Zafira B and Corsa D) moving on to the generation pictures was a giant leap forward. The mid 2000s cars had the worst indicator controls ever put in a car.

I’ve had it twice. One bad, one good.

I can’t help thinking that, like the cycling evangelists, that getting more people to ride would be shooting yourself in the foot as many of the advantages would be lost if significantly more people took it up.

You can have a much higher sill and/Or lower roof using a gull wing door. Have a look at a Mercedes 300sl for the best example of this. The GT40 gets over a similar issue using it’s roof cut out doors.

I got exactly the same vibe

I can sort of imagine a CRV rival based on the concept but without the seating pattern and not as a pickup.

Was the designer inspired by a trip to London?

I thought it was partly on subsidizing fares so they could undercut the competition

Looks like Nationwide but I could be wrong, it’s before my time.

I had a dark green Eunos Roadster that looked like 95% of all 2 seat convertibles in car parks. I know how you feel.

I seem to recall when BBC showed F1 you could choose your own camera. I remember watching a Canadian GP at work on Tv while also watching the rear view camera from one of the cars on the pc.
