I work in automotive marketing and one of the statistics we worry about is that young people who actually care about cars is on the decline. There's a whole generation is coming that doesn't look at their automobile as something that defines them. Real American incomes are down while the price of automobiles

I remember reading that this was one of Pininfarina's favorite designs.

I disagree. The engines were stone reliable. At stock boost they all grenaded at exactly 72,000 miles on the odo. With a boost controller, they all popped at 30k. It was so bad that owners would usually start saving for a rebuild around 60k.

There's actually not a whole lot you can do to improve the tall spindle GM subframes. Remember that nothing handled well with the shit tires they had back then.

Smiths gauges.

It really is a gorgeous car. I'm sure to the right guy it's not a bad deal but I look at it and think it's just an $8000 drivetrain in a $15000 car and maybe $5000 worth of modifications by a shop.... oh, and $2000 worth of wheels. So... it's not a crack pipe price, but it's definitely not a steal.

Just make sure you leave before they close for the night.

That was my complaint. The canopy was hideous and destroyed an otherwise brilliant car. When something is too ugly for even me to drive, you have a problem. Seriously, look at it. It's even uglier then a 2+2 e-type.

People who don't know what an aluminum monocoque chassis is shouldn't be allowed to own one.

I tried that. You'll need a commercial loan for a building in an industrial zone or you'll need a building in a multi-use zone (rare in America). You'll also want to check local ordinances, normally living quarters arent' allowed to be over the garage (exhaust). The only reason I know this is because I tried too. I

The only two modes of transport I need are sportscar and pickup truck, both vehicles which will be abused every day of their life plus I have an obscene 5 car garage that would shame most commercial repair shops.

A toyoford hybrid truck for the North American market is like hooking a donkey and goat together to win the Kentucky Derby.

I'm never going to buy a car I can't afford to completely rebuild myself.

The word "Gal" now makes me go from zero to rage in under 4 seconds.

Was ZR1BRO wearing flip flops?

I die a little bit as an enthusiast every time I see this shit. Maybe Karl Marx wasn't all wrong.

Sorry. I disagree. It's one of the select few "evolution" cars I like and I can't find a square inch or angle I don't like. I suppose you think the R5turbos are "ugly" too? The beauty of a parts bin special is in the eye of the beholder I guess but a car with a purpose will always be beautiful.

Jesus that thing is ugly. Definitely NOT the second coming of the chosen one (refer to pic).

Man it's right there.

He must have stolen that play from John Stewart. "I'm a comedian, not a journalist." The comedian card is the ultimate cop-out.
