My thoughts exactly. Everything in that house is a pile of destroyed garbage that looks like it went through a nuclear apocalypse, but somehow all the games survived unscathed in random piles of junk. The guy was a hoarder that obviously didn’t take care of his stuff, but for some reason he kept his games factory

Yeah, an abandoned house with valuable, easily sellable items is pretty sketchy.

It’s filthy in here except magically all these sealed video games are barely dirty at all.

Excuse me for my cynicism, but this really feels like those shows like storage wars which were pretty staged, just having sealed games in that filth feels very clickbaity.

It’s been really sad to watch Kotaku gradually become what its critics have long said it is. I have been reading Kotaku since around 2010-2011, I’m guessing, and it was once by far my favorite site for coverage of games and the culture around games. Over the last year or two, though, and especially over the last few

Isn’t Ubisoft a French company? How is it relevant that he’s French?

It could, but he would have to contact Nintendo (or whatever publisher released the games) for approval before attempting to sell them. And I guarantee that if you call up a publisher and say “I want to make a guide book for your 30 year old game” They will laugh and hang up.

Just because someone (or some company) is worth 7 million $ that doesn’t mean they have to donate 4 million (or whatever other arbitrary sum) to make it “right”.

All of the comments you have on your Kinja profile involve you shaming people for liking things that are “problematic”.

You can have a good game made by a bad company. That’s not even a remotely difficult or unusual scenario to have.

Out of curiosity, do you feel anyone who enjoys Harry Potter and thinks they are good books or films is “spitting in the faces” of a group of people? Does the artist, and and of themselves change the quality of the product to the point it is not good?

Sad part is, it’s actually a good game, it’s just not what people were expecting. After putting 20-odd hours into The Ascent, I reinstalled CP2077 and have been having a blast with it.

I understand and generally agree with that point. But for this situation, it feels unnecessary and redundant to care, lol.

It’s totally plausible this guy is a big lying phony... but then what? Are we going to harass him until he stops making content, are we going to start a counter campaign to make sure everyone who

Who cares if anything is real? I got my lulz!

The Trumpification of the world continues.

I’d take it a step further and say in this situation, I don’t think it even actually matters if this is real or not anyway. I don’t think anything tangibly changes either way.

Acknowledging that the left has a unique tendency to eat it’s own over the heresy of small differences doesn’t make one right wing. It’s showing basic awareness.

From Polygon article:

Acknowledging the identitarians actively look for reasons to cannibalize their own doesn’t make one right wing.

You are aware you don’t have to be “rich” to own stocks, right? Lots of hard working middle income people own stocks either directly, through ETF’s, retirement savings funds, etc. in corporations as a way of hopefully saving up for retirement. I’m getting tired of the idea that only corporate elitist fat cats own
