Totally agreed - just pointing out that it’s the impact an individual has plus the cap that creates this.
Happens in hockey, too.. the cap is a big factor since a very good player on a rookie contract is as valuable as anything in the league - except those handful of players who are worth 10s of millions per year more than a max contract.
I’ve often wondered if the NFL has ever pressured the Packers to somehow privatize the team so they aren’t required to release financial documents. I’m not sure of the logistics of that - or if it’s even possible - but it’s something I’ve been curious about.
