Eric Lindros: “The hit on Crosby didn’t look that bad. I wouldn’t stop playing.”
“Guys, I’m untouchable. You know what they say, ‘What happens in Vegas’...”
“Dude, they’re in Oakland for at least two more years.”
“Fuck.”
“How did your date go?”
I WAS ASKING WADE
I thought he’d for sure be registered at Dread, Bath & Beyond.
Marky Mark may have been the racist fan. He does have a history of racial motivated violence.
So in the movie does Marky Mark play the racist fan or Adam Jones?
The security guard who FINALLY goes down to tell the guys to “shut ya fackin’ yawp, ya putz!”
Marky Mark plays the typical Boston guy standing next to the racist fan that gives a pithy, eloquent speech about why he should stop.
Clearly he plays Pedroia, who gives a climactic speech over the PA system that ends racism in Boston forever.
As usual, he’ll just be playing Marky Mark.
Both, interestingly.
“Its racism” - Kevin Bacon after tasting the bag of peanuts.
Neutral: Because the US Education system needs an enema. We put so much emphasis on “general education” through all of high school (and usually the first two years of college) that it takes too long for people to learn their own skills and passions. I say we push for more shop/tech classes in high school, emphasize…
My auto mechanic makes a ton more money than I do. Sure he owns the shop, but he goes to work in coveralls. In a $75k pickup that I believe he paid cash for. Not to go too deep into it, but he has a big family, a big house, a bunch of nice cars and toys, and doesn’t seem to worry about money ever. And he gets to mess…
I actually think being a mechanic (or technician) now is more prestigious than it was.
Who’s to blame for creating a world in which holding VITAL service/labor positions (and often making a good living doing so, with often much less upfront costs) are seen as “failing” in life?
Neutral: I think Mike Rowe is a bit of a hack, but he is dead fucking on when he says that labor overall has gotten destroyed by general societal attitudes. People want to make a shitload of money really quick, or they want to be a nomadic “influencer” or something; basically no one looks to make a decent living…
Auto mechanic just isn’t that prestigious of a job. I mean everyone emphasizes over and over the importance of an education because you don’t want to end up in some common labor job, as if doing that sort of work is a failure. How many people aspire to auto mechanic now?
