Come on, not one metallica solo? Just because it's predictable doesn't mean that one of those face melters isn't deserving. Maybe Blackened?
And the main reason Chinese Democracy (the pseudo Guns n Roses album) was listenable is because Buckethead shredded all over that album. 'there was a time' is sick!

I think there was a way to maintain the disorientation the film was meant to have and still allow for more exposition or scenes that flesh out what was happening. It got a bit rushed at the end. They didn't have to spell it all out, but the movie would have been served well having 15 more minutes on the running time.

telling the dudes apart was never a point of confusion for me. I think he was just trying to play up the average joe quality of these guys, they knew the plot was confusing but I don't think that was the sole intent of everything they did.

It's not that it doesn't become clearer, it's that it never becomes completely obvious what happened. Multiple viewings I think get pretty close, but I believe the disorientation is a part of the desired effect from the makers. I think they probably some where have a chart that lays out exactly how it occurred, but

Yeah, I'm not saying offesnive racist costumes don't exist, but it's been out of control this Halloween in terms of the PC police. This isn't a new phenomenon but this year it's almost as if they think it is.

I'm not saying action and progress is impractical, I just think not buying a movie ticket is small beans to what other things can be done. And sometimes people really strap there lives because they get so caught up in living this perfectly ethical lifestyle and it becomes completely lacking in pragmatism. So, and I

if its a humorous occurrence I guess that's fine, but when you said it was laughable it came off as simple derision. Never said I was a Card fan, I simply have been annoyed by the trend of people nit picking his early and best work since he's become less likable to everybody. You already admitted sci fi has this

as long as you find all sci fi laughable and are fair and consistent

as long as you find all sci fi laughable and are fair and consistent

that's true, that's why saying it's laughable is a bit of an overstatement to me

Hmm, laughable? I think hindsight is coloring your opinion of what was actually a pretty cool and forward thinking concept on Card's part. How would he know how the internet would work? How do we know how the internet will work and its politics shape the global discourse after the human race is nearly destroyed by

I'm not speaking towards this review specifically but other reviews of the movie and the trend in the last 5 or so years to retroactively go back and find everything wrong in Card's work because of his political views.

well said! It is rather predictable what the thought police media does now with their outrage and grievance industry. It's utterly predictable and hollow. They run stories about offenses because they know it will get clicks. This Halloween political correctness stuff has been unhinged, that's been more the story

I'm pretty sure Card has learned his lesson when it comes to writing about his homophobic ideas. I'm not saying he's changed or that it was okay, I just have a feeling he's going to fade into relative obscurity when it comes to anybody listening to his political garbage. Thus, I hardly think buying a ticket to this

why hasn't it aged well? Sure, the influence of blogs and the internet can be suspect, but the very concept of blogging and the net and the transfer of ideas was pretty forward thinking. We have no idea what kind of political impact will be occurring on the internet a century or so from now. And there are

hmmm, who were you talking to. the Ender's series, at least the first 4 and not the shadow books, are generally considered sci fi classics. Sure, in retrospect people have eviscerated them and nit picked flaws because they don't like Card. But Speaker for the Dead is a very original book with great characters. I
