Preach!
Preach!
Yes it was thrilling but was it a cheap thrill? I don't know. I think Elena has always been overtly moral, at least that's what the writers want us to believe. She's also always been a defender of vampires, she doesn't see them as monsters. And now she's one too. So the the fact that she was gleeful and nonchalant…
Oh…
My…
God…
That…
was…
Awesome!!
Yeah, fuck that maroon 5 guy. I remember not feeling that way. But I'm always seeing his stupid face and torso when I would rather not,
no. Charlie & the chocolate factory :)
Those ancestors are kind of annoying though, let's be real. And they love using people so I wouldn't hold them as the moral arbiters of the show.
I doubt it. Since last season transferring Klaus into another body didn't kill them. Really that rule was kind of dumb and I bet they retcon it in the future when it becomes inconvenient.
Also enough of this love triangle, no one cares! An unending love triangle is the perfect way to ruin a female protagonist. "But I love Damon" "Now I love Stefan" "Oh I don't know maybe I love Damon" UGHHHHHHHH.
These original vampires are ruining this show. They can't seem to die, they aren't really menacing anymore and they have no real purpose. I know some of you fangurls love klaus but he's really become a waste of space. If this spin-off means the originals can get the fuck out so the show can move on? Then good.

I actually loled at this comment, not at, but with. Maybe you're right. We'll see. I'll come back here for next weeks episode, spoiler I think it kind of sucked lol. I do however believe this show doesn't deserve the kind of interesting debate it seems to be inciting here in the ole' Av Club.
The way these damn comment sections work I can't reply to your most recent comment on this particular thread. I did find the idea that because I'm a man I can't understand the subtleties of a f/f relationship kind of insulting to me and kind of insulting to men. You're being a little essentialist there.
To be honest I…
Agreed. I think part of what bothers me about this show is casting. The actors who play Dyson and Lauren never really sell it. I really hope this season the big bad culls half of the cast.
The show has always struggled to create any real sense of danger. Even last season with the garuda or whatever, it was all very anti climactic. They would talk about how big and bad the garuda was but he never felt like a "big bad".
Sorry I didn't read all of your post, but still I think I get the gist. It's been said before about various show's attempting an ironic send up of genre tropes. It's not that he doesn't get it, it's just that it doesn't work. I'm frankly sick of the "you don't get it" response to criticism, he gets it, it's just not…
I can't reply to you down there so I'll reply to you up here. I agree it is better than last season, but it still kind of sucks. I will give it another go next season and see if it improves. But like the saying goes, you can't polish a turd.
Nope, Carrie is right.
I imagine that since the observers travel around they don't need the pigment gene, they're not so much white but albino.
Are we trying to make sense of fringe?
I think it also raises heat/tension. And there's a lot of talking to the other person's lips too.
