Sam is intolerable this season. Those ham handed flashbacks are jarring and no one actually cares. And btw purgatory changed Dean,as it should. It isn't generally a bad character trait to evolve past an un-nuanced closed minded fundamentalist all-daemons-must-die view of the world.
