I think they see the taxes as premiums on a form of social insurance that they collectively decided is a good and prudent way to pool their resources and share justly in the benefits, all toward the goal of making a true society.
But Mr. Sanders was wrong to compare the U.S. system to Finland’s. People who compare the two nation’s schools (Finland’s rank as the world’s best) are also wrong.
