As with many things, Portal has this covered

Or if someone signed up for Phoenix University thinking it was gonna be real college. Which is a scam.

Why do you want hack-a removed entirely? Why should we change the rules to benefit giant unskilled players?

From a competition standpoint the rule is dumb, as it makes the rules easier for players who can’t shoot, but I also hate it for entertainment reasons. For me, the most entertaining version of basketball is when

as if Felix Biederman is a cheerleader for “woke” bullshit. The only thing Felix hates more than “woke” bullshit are the self-styled “truth-teller” conservatives who hide their bigotry behind criticizing “woke” bullshit

He was, which only makes the pay disparity more egregious. Very good point about endorsement deals though. LeBron could play for free and still be close to the top (if not the top) of the league in annual pay.

He was good, but never great. He’s not a hall of fame player (and he’s not a couldve been HoF but injuries, like TMac or Hill), yet he’s probably in top 5 for salary for his generation.

You can say he made the right decision, but then again, Manu Ginobli is still retiring rich as hell(if not *as* rich), and people

I always thought this guy was just a mediocre, video Seanbaby. I remember seeing AVGN’s Bible Adventures, and thinking not only was this guy biting Seanbaby, he was kind of bad at it. I’m younger than the AVGN, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew about Sean’s site and was doing exactly that. But AVGN came around at

I’d like to think I just watched Stephen A. hinting towards how Delonte West fucked LeBron’s mom and Broussard nervously laughing

I think theyre just totally different, and equally valid, modes of competition.

he was arguing that Kevin love was a better teammate who was willing to take a backseat and do the unglamorous things that lead to winning. Whatever dubious reasoning he had, that’s pretty much what Kevin Love just did, at the same time that OJ Mayo got kicked out the league

Even Kevin Love’s recent suckitude is subsumed inside of being a good teammate on a championship team. He sucks on defense for sure, but he just took a lesser role inside of a team concept and won a title. That’s the exact thing that Simmons was saying the OJ Mayo/Steph Marbury guy can’t do. Not sure if he was wrong.

I don’t follow soccer that seriously, but I do feel somewhat vindicated by this. I’m a pretty big hockey fan, and while I understand there are differences in playing goal for each sport, I don’t think Hart plays a good style.

It was last world cup when I got shouted down by all my soccer expert coworkers for saying

this is a brilliant point.

The sports guy would love that analogy

As someone in my late-20s, i’m starting to feel like I can notice the moment when people a generation above completely lose their edge. Rightly or not I’ve always felt like Kissing Suzy Kolber and Deadspin (and really a lot of snarky blog journalism in general) grew out of the path that Simmons paved.

Sure, but it’s more like someone working under you, contributes the most to everyone making a lot of money, then after 4 years of success and hard work, leaves for another job.

Imagine you were a videogame company with the best graphics programmer in the world, or a comedy show with the most talented writer, or you

Well, the 80s examples are dead-on, but for Shaq/Kobe, that narrative *did* kind of tear them apart. Kobe threatened to go to the Clippers if he didnt get his own team, because he thought Shaq was hurting his legacy.

Dirk couldnt stop Barkley, Barkley couldnt stop Dirk. Niether one is making their money on defense. It’s close enough that I think Dirk’s second winning finals run gives him the edge. Maybe a consistently motivated Barkley wouldve been clearly better than Dirk, but we didnt get many years of that.

You’re right. I don’t think it detracts from my overall point though. The team was decimated.

That Pistons team was a bit declined, but they were still the same group who beat the 2004 Lakers.

If LeBron beats this Warriors team, I think it changes his entire legacy, the way Dirk’s was changed by 2011. It’s not fair in either case, but all the real pernicious criticisms of LeBron are stupid narrative bullshit
