You really think so? I think he’s doing it because of the whole ego trip of he’s a comedian / “truth teller” and nobody can tell him what to do / say so he’s just doubling down on being an asshole.

I have seen this linked now in a bunch of articles about the Chappelle controversy. It shouldn’t devalue the argument being made about Chappelle though which is the intended effect from bringing this up.

I’m skeptical.

I meant more about what he would say / content of the performance. Yes, Chappelle is still popular and will still get butts in seats, safe to assume. 

I actually assumed what he meant is a series of screenings of the special rather than him actually performing?

Disappointing but unsurprising. Same goes for other Netflix employees. I know this article says it was hundreds of protesters but I read other reports that the walkout number was closer to 100 folks.
