Reporting on a physical issue at a sporting event is not really that out of bounds. Mental issues is a whole ‘nother issue and agree is very fucked up.

I thought that Biles had some sort of injury prior to the Games? Hopefully she is better before the individual events (whether it’s physical or mental or both).

And for those on the grays that don’t know how to read, I’m not excusing what Rachel Nichols said one bit. It just stuck out to me that the comment from ESPN brass was presented in the article uncritically when it’s obvious that the problem is at the top of the organization.

I’d  be more forgiving of Nichols’ comments if she had not implied that she was the only one working hard to get the gigs and that Maria Taylor just got things handed to her. Otherwise her reaction would have been somewhat more understandable given that ESPN has not been great to their female talent either.

Why does it feel the focus has gone to Rachel Nichols and not ESPN being complete shit to their Black talent?
