I've always had a thing for "Poor Song" on Fever to Tell
I think a roving gang of halation filters killed Kaminski's mother.
Dare I ask your opinion on any punk or the "music" the kids listen to these days in general?
I have some affection for Knowing, or at least respect, as its one of the movies to really fuck up my sense of mortality. That movie sat with me for a while.
Barthes' "every Roman has fringes" but with plunging necklines
Cosign, I had no idea what the trailer was trying to show me.
I also love how the nature of the series means it's basically impossible to get a good comments section going.
Ditto. Keep meaning to get into her stuff but I've never found an entry point—no one seems to agree on what it would be.
So you're saying that if this was a lynch mob, this would be a lynch mob.
Okay, so—this isn't a lynch mob. In cases of sexual assault, I don't think that term should be used lightly, given that it originates with racist sexual violence in the first place.
Do I need to post statistics for reported v unreported sexual assaults, and conviction rates, or nah?
Okay I'll bite. What are the epistemic and evidentiary standards that we as society, having no right to conduct our own trials, and recognizing that the justice system is fucked (come on, even if you don't think the assaults happened, the judge's reasoning is anti-human chaos)—what are the epistemic standards…
You missed the whole point. The "social" and "legal" levels are completely different and have distinct protocols and evidentiary and epistemic procedures. Taking the victim seriously does not look the same in each situation.
Really, what are you doing? I can't understand why you want to die on this hill. Neutrality is a statement as much as anything else, and in cases like this, a morally damaged position. And why is Kesha in quotes?
Your arguments are boring and old. They come up EVERY TIME. You claim it's about this case in particular, but this argument happens every. Single. Time. That means something. I leave it to you to parse out what that is.
I don't like the Nostalgia Critic but I love Beyond Thunderdome. I think it's behind only Fury Road.
Y'all need to listen to "Shine, Shine" before saying Yoko Ono isn't a good musician. That song fucking GOES.
Sorry my reply took so long, things have been wild round here.
