Fun car:
I’m not sure why these BMW owners are disabling that mirror feature. It’s was the exact opposite in the C7 Corvette: mirror tilt was disabled by default and you had to dig into the menus to enable it. It’s a golden feature for seeing the lines on parking spaces when backing into a spot.
Every car I didn’t share with my wife had memory seats. Ever car we did share did not have memory seats. But I can totally agree with you.
I didn’t even think of the electronic e-brakes. They truly are awful.
I’m early millennial/gen-x and I think the main issue is that blue collar jobs for non-college educated people have absolutely disappeared. I have an MA and I’ve done pretty well for myself, as have many of my colleagues. Those that are stuck with just a HS degree, or an associate’s, though, are kind of fucked. You…
Uh huh... so then why were boomers were able to go to college, buy a house, a car, and raise a family on a single minimum wage income? They seem to have had it pretty easy, if the Silent Gen “acreted power” before them.
Boomer generation has left the world worse off than the one they were born into. I don’t see that as controversial or debatable.

Much more useful graph. Same source data with Dec 2019 as the basis for the index. Jan 2022 was peak at 67% higher. Prices have started to rebound again since Oct 2022.
Jalopnik’s opening paragraph said “Mercedes-Benz became the first automaker to achieve SAE Level 3 certification in the U.S.”, not just Nevada. Unless it’s just misreported here...
Dangerous marketing term aimed at gaining customers ≠ aviation term for pilots that are trained and certified
“Jalopnik’s opening paragraph said “Mercedes-Benz became the first automaker to achieve SAE Level 3 certification in the U.S.”, not just Nevada.”
Pretty sure that Jalopnik has already done more in depth articles on MB Drive Pilot
Yeah it could, but it is not.
But did you use it to race techno barbarians in planes? Since there’s no twin turbo to kick in, I hope you didn’t risk it.
Now THAT’S a Jalop story!
Always a thrill to see an article about the Ridley Scott Superbowl commercial.
