If he helped sell the truck to the woman initially, he likely had an idea of how much she could afford. New trucks (even Nissans) can go for well over $50k. She would likely qualify for a C8 price point.

I did this exact thing (almost) with a 2014 Cayman S.  Bought for $48k and a plane flight, sold it 2 years later for $44k and 24k miles more on it.

Therefore, the newer 981 Boxster at around $40,000 is going to be out of budget.
