I lived along Gandy initially, and then moved to Hyde Park. So I’ve done Howard Franklin and Gandy, they’re both awful drives now a days.  Glad that commute is behind me.

Before someone corrects me, The Skyway is a cable stayed bridge but works very similarly to a suspension bridge...

Closed for wind 50% of the time, closed for fog 50% of the time.

This is pretty much standard procedure for all large suspension bridges, or close all traffic. The Skyway bridge in St Pete Florida I swear is closed once a month or so which forces all traffic on a 50 mile detour.

All the extra traffic would add an HOUR each way on my 10 mile Tampa to St Pete commute.  Needless to

Will plebs with Miatas be allowed at the same track days?  no...

Powertrain is 10 years...

No where does it say she drove EXACTLY 1M in EXACTLY 5 years, this is likely exaggerated for PR based on the model year.

It’s a 2013 which means it could have been bought in say Nov of 2012, the video came out in Dec 2018, so probably achieved in Nov 2018. That’s 6 years of actual possible drive time.

We actually have speed limits because of things completely unrelated to the driver. Most of which are about road condition, road location, and car capabilities, and a little bit politics.

They’re well under his $30k budget too, this great example is only $2,000.

It’s surprising how common birds on / at tracks are actually an issue I think. I know 1 other person personally who hit a small bird on track and there are quite a few professional races we have seen it happen in.

Palm Beach International Raceway on the main straight a few years ago.

I’ve hit a seagull at ~120-140, into to my left leg. Felt like I lost total function of the leg for a few minutes (dead leg feeling) and got a massive bruise.

Learned the hard way that buying a CPO Porsche is smarter than a cheaper non-certified one... and that a new engine for a 5 year old Porsche that is just out of original warranty costs in the realm of $25k out of pocket.

Since you apparently need reminding that UCF beat the only team to have beaten Alabama last year..

New Miata or 2-3 year old Cayman/Boxster.

This was so straightforward and all of you blew it.

Here’s a side by side, you’re all welcome.

Hot Take that blows away all the recommendations (check)

Lastly, she does in fact use her BMW’s turn signal

My Mom (she’s my friend too, right?). Not so much afraid to drive with, but she brakes with her left foot before she has let her right foot completely off the gas. Whiplash every time.

I have another friend Kris who thinks the way to keep a steady speed is to push the gas pedal down moderately then fully let off and
