Truly it's hit and miss. With most of the cars Tavarish posts you might get one and never have a hint of any problems or you might get it and it will bankrupt you. Part of the equation when buying a car like this is to ask yourself:

I know plenty, myself included. The error wasn't in buying used. It was in buying out of warranty. I bought my 2 year old BMW for about 40% off, under warranty with just 17k miles.
The S8 was such a miserable car and I say this as someone who nearly pulled the trigger on one and instead opted for a fully optioned A8. It's marginally faster than the FSI 4.2 when driven like most people drive these, the V10 makes it much more nose heavy than the already nose-heavy A8 (and the fact that it's only…
You can get both stock and aftermarket solutions that add bluetooth A2Dp sound as well as iPod control through the display. It all works seamlessly.
I just sold my A8 with the B&O system. By far it's the thing I miss the most about the car. It was just inexplicably clear.
Interesting. I had no idea. I thought it was purely a range extender.
You realize the Karma has an identical drivetrain right? Electric motor powers the vehicle at all times and the engine kicks in as a generator when needed. There is no direct connection to the wheels from the engine. Same with the Volt.
Also, TCG?
You're wrong.
Well see, that's the thing. I had a 2006 550 and have a 2010 535. The 550 was impeccable other than an exploding coolant recovery tank that cost me $125 and 15 minutes and the 535 has seen sustained abuse at 450+ horsepower and has also been trouble free.
I really hate you. I'm in between a newer FX35/ 50 or Cayenne for my wife. My number one choice was the X5 because my BMWs have been impeccably reliable but all I hear is what a raging turd it is.
No, the cylinders in a slant 6 are slanted, thus the name. The cylinders in an inline 6 are north/ south.
The car is expensive to own. There's a lot that can go wrong. I'm not doubting that. Most of the complaints you have with the E65/E66 are subjective.
Here's my qualifications: Previously owned 2006 M5, 2006 550i, Audi A8. Currently own: E60 535 and another Audi A8. Cross-shopped 2007 A8's, 750's and S550's a few years back. Also am a huge BMW fan.
Ok, all that said, the last generation 7 series interior basically complete shit. Sorry. I know nobody wants to say…
If you say so… :-)
Here's one reason: The engine is based on the older 4.4 found in the 2004 & 2005 545 and 745. In other words: it's riddled with potentially expensive problems and not nearly as trouble free as the later 4.8 found in the 550/ 750.
The question is do you really want to and the answer is no. Now before you write me off as some sort of hater, I'm not. I'm a huge fan of the D3 (2004 - 2010) A8, not so much of the V10 S8. The car is slow for what it is, gets abysmal fuel mileage and there's no pay-off. It's not like the M5 or the S63 where…
Way back in the day when cell phone companies used to advertise free nights and weekends the owner of the store I worked at came up with an interesting way of advertising it. Instead of selling plans as 250 anytime minutes and unlimited nights and weekends he advertised it as 250 anytime minutes and 28,562 bonus…
The XF is cheap if you sit in it though. For that matter, the XJ isn't on par with Merc/ BMW/ Audi either. An amazing car no doubt but in my opinion it's no longer a contender until they bring their infotainment system past the early 2000's and improve some of the materials.
Stick a last generation 7 series, S Class, XJ and A8 next to each other. The Merc and BMW already look painfully dated whereas the last generation D3 A8 (especially the 2007+ facelift) still looks great. And then there's the Jag which is probably the most timeless sedan of all time.
6k is a steal for a camera like this. When you consider the cost of competing cinema cameras the URSA does more for less money. It is an amazing peace of kit and if the past is any indicator they'll piss off a lot of people with stupid bugs on the first release and then cut the price by 40% 8 months later. Call me a…
