I didn't say the Phaeton wasn't available with that V8. What I said is that the V8 equipped A8 is a tick slower than the 600lb heavier W12 equipped Phaeton and the A8 is still a boat.

Baby keeps parking the cozy coupe too close for comfort so I have to take up two spaces.

Not the best picture but I was lucky enough (or unlucky if you ask my wife) to obtain these.

The problem with the Phaeton is that the Audi A8 exists and once you realize how closely the two are related and how much better of a car the Audi is, the Phaeton quickly loses it's charm.

Bravo! +1 internetz.

JB4 tuner will put you solidly at 400hp. Add E85 and run it on Map 5 and you'll be up around 450hp. Add an intake to that. The intake/ JB4 combo is just $600. You can go further from there but you probably won't need or want to. :-)

Small 4 door that's truly fun to drive? You're driving it. Seriously... You have to be the first person I've ever heard complain of the 3 series equipped with the TT N54 engine. This is an engine that's overwhelmingly lauded for it's flat power curve, pleasant sound, acceleration and also for being under-rated on

It's kind of hit and miss. Realistically the cap isn't that low. Reliably you can put a lot more power through them and now we have 15 years of data to pull from to back that up. The problem is that the 3800 guys used to pop in shift kits and combine them with PCMs that maxed the line pressure in the transmission

4T65E? I blame Volvo's modifications. That was a swell transmission in the GM cars it was put in and they put serious power through them.

I had no idea that car even existed. I used to be in love with the S55/ S600. It's amazing how far ahead of the curve MB was with those two engines. I had no idea an S65 existed though and the power... wow. I can't even imagine how smooth it is.

I'm just going to say it: the BMW E60 is the best overall driver's car for the person that has sports car aspirations but also needs to toss a few rugrats in the back seat. There are cheaper sedans, faster sedans and more luxurious sedans but if you enjoy driving, a sport version of BMW's 5 series is for you. Today

Automatics have come such a long way that it's not so hard to abandon your old stick shift. I just traded in a BMW 550i with the 6 speed manual for a 535i that doesn't come with the manual.

Goodness me... I can't believe that. With all options my 2010 M-Tech 535 stickered at a tick over $65,000 and that seems fair for a car like that but for a 3 series? Knocking on the 60k door? Not a shot in hell, probably not even if it had an "M" before the 3.

I still have a copy of the first Need For Speed for 3DO that I bought for $1 from a thrift store. If I can only find a working console I can finally re-live my youth.

So here I am, a Chicagoan in LA for the week and I stood in line like a dope Friday to get my phone, fully expecting the maps app to suck. After all, I've read story after story, comment after comment echoing just that sentiment.

No, I genuinely had no clue. I thought the train actually did that. I'm semi-relieved! :-)

As the father of a 1 year old who's just starting to show emotions like this, it touches me. You do anything to capture their attention and to earn a smile.

Seriously... My sarcasm meter was off the charts here and apparently nobody got the joke.

There is just no reason for these headphones to sound anything but stellar. Significantly smaller, niche companies like Bose pop out headphones for a $100 price point and I would imagine they sell less than 1% the amount of headphones that Apple does.

"iphones" was already taken...
