I wonder if the various phone companies will offer deals with a 3G plan the way they do with phones. If they subsidize the costs, the 3G NGP would still be more in the long run, but could actually end up cheaper than the Wi-Fi only version initially.

@logan25wolves: They'd be kicking themselves in the balls, too, with that move. I know the gaming companies typically lose money on every sale until they can reduce costs, but I'm pretty sure even at $300+ they'd be losing a significant amount of money per unit. Dropping it to $200 could break them, or force them to

I'm not a big fan of glossy finishes, but aside from that, it is a sexy, sexy beast of a device. The only thing I'm worried about is a $300+ price tag, which would put it well out of my reach for quite a while.

So I went ahead and downloaded the demo thanks to this article. Now I am not eating for the next two days, because I figure that's a fair trade in order to afford this game.

I'd really just prefer PSP2. Why does it have to have a fancy name? The PS2 and PS3 don't, and they've sold a hojillion consoles between them.

That's a better high score, but not quite the top yet.

I loaned a friend a lot of money a few years back, but don't regret it in the slightest. He got back on his feet and then some, while I'm the one with no job right now. Thanks to what I did, I have a place to live until I can afford my own place.

@GM_Pax: Since freethegoldfish posted that comment on this article, where the only 720p video is the YouTube one, that is the one I assumed he or she was talking about. Most of the Kotaku videos aren't HD anyway; something that bugs me, someone without a bandwidth limit.

Psh, I disabled that tool a long time ago. I didn't like that there was information about everything I searched for personally in one place. So as far as my web history page is concerned, I've never used Google to search for anything.

@Deadsider: That's a... disturbing analogy. But a tool is still a tool. Sony might have dropped the ball on making it useful, but that doesn't excuse developers from misusing it anyway. It's not like it's required.

That's less "trailer" and more "teaser". They don't actually show anything of value.

That's actually not too bad. I don't really carry my handhelds in my pocket much anyway, since I prefer to have a case for them. Something that size will still fit easily in a backpack or carry on case.

@RRW: They mean PS3-like graphics on the screen that size. Which is possible, considering the screen is not HD.

@DocSeuss: I don't know about Bad Company 2, but L4D I think doesn't attract assholes very well. It's one of those games that requires cooperation, and as such, people who are difficult to play with won't have any fun with the game, and are likely to quit. I've played that game on PC and Xbox 360, and neither had a

@Deadsider: That seems like a fault of the game, not the hardware. Simple solution: don't play those games. Lair got roasted all to hell for their fuck up there, and sold poorly because of it. Just make sure don't buy any game that only uses it for gimmick value, rather than as something useful.

@Deadsider: I'm confused at your apparent rage. The only reason people didn't like the SIXAXIS controls on the PS3 was because they replaced the force feedback. The original PSP never had that, so it's purely a new, extra feature.

@comtar: Well I consider all my games an investment, and never sell any of them back, so your argument holds no water for me. The only thing I don't like about buying digital games is that I don't have a hard copy of them, but that hasn't stopped me from buying iPod games or Steam games; it's really just a preference.

@DocSeuss: Do you play on private servers, then? Or just play really unpopular games? If not that, then you are just incredibly lucky to have not encountered those kinds of people.
