@vinylrake: Perhaps for their level of expendability? If you are just trying to send a message, low level baddies can intimidate just as well as your highly trained soldiers, and if something went wrong, no big loss.

@Velox Aequitas: It's Marston. But yes, it is fantastic.
@Timstuff: Uh, no.
Reminds me of the famous photo, "The Most Beautiful Suicide". She did not live, however, as this lady jumped off the Empire State Building, and fell 86 floors.
@Solomon Grundy: This video basically is a "best of Lifehacker" summary, considering I've been using these tips for years and most of them came from Lifehacker.
@Markus Reiter: It's worth getting right. You might spend an afternoon learning it, but if you need to be ready right away, you're done with tying your shoes that much faster.
@huh989: That's how I do it. Using the stem works most of the time, but the monkey way works every time. It also confuses most people, which is a plus.
I'm pretty sure I've seen most of these on Lifehacker before. Mostly because I've bee using many of these for a long time, and can't think where else I would have seen them.
@jupiterthunder: The "forever" stamps were one of the best investments I've ever made, considering I rarely send letters. I used 8 of the 20 stamps in the book over the past 3 years. By my math, I've got almost 4 years to go before I have to buy stamps again. Yep, good investment.
@FauxReal: I have had to do so, on rare occasions. I bought a book of the "forever" stamps about 3 years ago, and have used less than half of them. Much better investment for me than the tips here.
I'm going to go ahead and disagree with this article. You can call me a hoarder if you want, but I like having all my music, pictures, and videos available. They are entertaining, and useful for those days where my Internet decides it's going to take the day off for no good reason.
@Tweeks: I don't have that, unfortunately. Maybe I can go do my laundry at my parents' house tomorrow. They have on-demand cable, maybe it will be on theirs.
@vinylrake: Foot soldiers is a totally legitimate term. Not my fault it makes a terrible pun, also.
@mrantimatter: See, I don't get that mentality. It was no epic masterpiece, but the story was well-told, if clichéd. What makes it less deserving of praise than any other hackneyed movie? There are so many bad movies that come out every year, the fact that this movie is just so incredibly popular seems to draw it…
@vinylrake: I dunno, the fact that they don't even have actual uniforms makes them seem even more disposable than otherwise. If you actually care enough to give your foot soldiers uniforms, then they probably have some training and worth, too. Forcing them to dress up in whatever's handy makes them seem even lower…
That was an incredible fan film. I would love to see a full length reboot of the series done in that style. The original comic books have always been much grittier and darker than the cartoons and movies have been. It might seem silly to make a darker and edgier Ninja Turtles movie to those who only know the lighter…
@CharmeleonWithAttitude: Agreed. It was an entertaining movie, but it felt like the Half-Life theme was an afterthought, rather than the main focus.
@raezing: Ditto.
I don't meditate as a habit, but I will do so under times of stress or frustration. It has always helped to calm me. I never much cared if it was a real effect or purely a placebo; all that I cared was that it worked. Now I guess I can safely say that it does indeed have real, visible effects.
Well that's disappointing. I was excited until I saw that it was a hoax. The original Matrix film remains one of my favorite movies of all time, and while I didn't hate the other two, they were pretty shitty in comparison to the original. I was hoping that this would have meant a rescue of the franchise.
