Based on my sporadic viewing it seems like a lot of the contestants, or at least one per show, is in a married/dedicated relationship already. Second, it seems like producers often pair a hippie, live-off-the-land survivalist with an ex-military/hunter/redneck type. The chances of them hitting it off are... slim.
