I don’t really care what’s canon or not - the fact is that TIE Defenders weren’t a new thing when Rebels got their grubby hands on em. I flew one already on the Emperor’s behest back when Ahsoka Tano didn’t even exist. XD

Now hold on here, sport. TIE Defenders originated from TIE Fighter back in the day, not from Rebels.

But he would, I’d argue, be the last to get a real shot at using the medium of a Marvel movie to tell a strange and personal story. In the years since, that’s just not something filmmakers have gotten to do.
