Is this being filmed in Canada perchance? The last several S. King series seemed more like tax shelters for investors rather than actual series.

Remembering The West Wing just makes me sad now. A bygone age when the ‘loyal opposition’ acted in good faith and Republicans weren’t yet lying Fascist nihilists. Heck, even the Republican president in ‘Scandal’ had higher moral ethics than the current occupant of the WH.

The Republican convention is immune to satire because no matter how outrageous your lampoon they will top it in real life. This GOP convention is actually disgusting. Its ‘political pornography’, a masterbatory act with no redeeming social value.

Justice League = Shrek?

I’ve listened to loads of K-pop songs where they were singing in Korean but to my ears it was English. I challenge you to listen to this song from an old TV series soundtrack and not hear the line “Don’t hold your breath”.

Slowly-slowly  Korean performers are becoming better known in the US. IU, Taeyeon, AKMU, Zico, EXO, Big Bang, Red Velvet, Day6, UhHyuk, Girl’s Day, Lee Hyori, Suzy. I’m just some random suburban dude in his 60s and even I know about these artists!

Ooooohh.... What have I got for this weekend... This week was episodes 15 and 16, the finale of the political comedy ‘Into The Ring’, one of the best K-dramas of the year, particularly notable for it not involving parallel dimensions, royalty or zombies in the storyline.

Oh, it was a cliffhanger ending. So they can’t try to convince us the storyline had been completed and the series ended on its own terms. I recall Scrubs repeatedly gave us a ‘series finale’ ending for the the last several seasons just in case they never came back. But they kept coming back.

The current president went through six bankruptcies, coke-sniffed his way through a live TV debate, cannot pronounce the word ‘Thailand’, and struggled getting through a simple mental competency test as though it was the bar exam. But it’s Britney Spears who needs her wealth put into conservatorship?

I still get the impression the two ‘celebrities’ in this affair were thrown off the sleigh for the pursuing wolves to devour while everyone else gets away. Any news of an indictment against the university chancellor or any actually rich people in this scandal being indicted?

Go back all the way to 2012 for her ‘Live Prude Girls’ web series.

In retrospect this film is a veritable catalog of all of Spielberg’s worst impulses, his most annoying storytelling tics, his ham-fisted direction, his cloying sentimentality, his lack of nuance. They become glaring obvious after you’ve seen 25-30 of his films,

In other words its like 8O% of all jobs in the US.

Close your eyes and think back to how much you disliked the previous Snider Superman/DC offerings. This isn’t the director’s cut of a great famous film like (picking something at random)Apocalypse Now’, its a director’s cut off a mediocre comic book movie.

I just watched the first episode of a new anthology sci-fi series out of MBC in Korea named. SF8. Holy hell, that was an intense ride. Its been a long time since I’ve watched anything I’d describe as ‘unnerving’. The scene where the grieving daughter and lookalike caretaker robot start making out over the mother’s

Hah! Out of the blue, a few months back, ‘Sexy Beast’ popped into my mind while writing a work correspondence. I had made a suggestion that I thought was good but I was sure it was going to get shot down. So I attached a clip of Ben Kingsley screaming NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!” to my email.

Hah! I spotted the article headline and the very thought to spontaneously pop into my head was “Oh no, not Kenneth Branagh again.”

You can’t watch this movie now without thinking of Megyn Kelly.

Well... that was quite the electric guitar solo with a movie attached.

Year 2000? Check out the Korean film ‘Lies’ released to the US that year. Its 50 Shade of Grey but without the dude being young, rich or good looking, and without the film makers being prudish. The most wickedly perverse film I’ve ever seen
