Alexis Hasty’s position and comments are certainly provocative in the current climate of the issues she is addressing. In light of such a divisive climate on the matter, I cannot even contemplate how to start a respectful or reasonable discourse here and I understand how upsetting this matter truly is.

I think everyone agrees with you, at least to some degree, that neither Uber nor Lyft are paragons of Social Justice or beacons of progressive thought. And the idea to boycott one, or both of them is something I do not at all find to be out of line.

You know, I do not think anyone will ever really argue that Uber is not the most moral of companies or that their leadership is of the “best human beings” variety. That said, I find it interesting that people who try to jam a square peg into a round hole get really surprised when it doesn’t work out for them.

Look back at how many people liked my original comments and I would argue the VAST majority of people who READ my comments agree with me. But this is a CAR ENTHUSIAST website, so I would expect as much; that fact alone certainly doesn’t make me, or them, right, or wrong.

I have a 69 Charger (and a 66 LeMans, amusingly). I can tell you that you are spot on. The sheer number of 2nd gen chargers destroyed in film made it very difficult to find mine at a reasonable price 5 years ago and has actually doubled my car’s value in that time.
