I wasn’t talking about the hood scoop. I was talking about the little black scoop/air inlet at the front of his engine bay. With the oem air box, it directs air to the intake. With an aftermarket intake (see open air filter) it does not.

I love that the Subarus have a dipstick for the manual trans fluid. I think its great and all cars should have them, you can at least check the condition of the fluid without changing it.
Ohhh if you do it yourself and have the variable valve timing motor, get the cam gear locks! For the love of god get the cam gear locks. I wanted to toss a grenade in my engine doing the timing belt on my 06.
On my WRX (lowered on tanabe springs) I can just slide under the car remove that splash shield without jacking up the car. My oil catch pan barely fits underneath as well. Makes it a little less messy on windy days not having to jack it up and have the drain pan right under the car.
Why did you keep the stock intake scoop on if it isn’t directing air to the aftermarket intake? I was just looking at my 06 WRX with a cobb intake trying to see if there was a way to make the intake scoop thing work.
I had this happen recently. I got a flat in my 06 gto. The 19x10 wheel and flat tire would not fit in the trunk where the space saver spare went, in fact, it wouldn’t fit in the trunk at all. Luckily, a friend had a bed sheet in his trunk so I could put the flat tire and wheel in the back seat of my gto. It was…
If they do have the original motor, its on its way out. I mean the block, crank, and rods are original so its the original motor, right? haha
yeah I turned the rest reminder off but kept the speed one on just to keep remind me that Im driving like a dick haha
The wife has an 06 WRX. Intake, exhaust, wheels, suspension work, and some cosmetic stuff. It was a great car, fun to drive, and seemed like any issues that popped up were easy and cheap to fix... until about 125k miles. Then the CEL came on for a cylinder 2 misfire. I moved the coil to a different cylinder, changed…
My GTO has it too! Scared the hell out of me the first time I got went over 100mph. Its a loud BEEP and then the dash flashes the speed warning. It also has a rest reminder that comes on at 2.5-3 hours. A different beep/sequence of beeps and then a little tree with a bench under comes up on the display. I had to look…
Whenever someone asked what kind of car you have youd have to follow it up with “no not Chrysler sebring! Dammit! My car is cool! It has a rotary and a supercharger, its super rare and looks badass.” youd be trying to convince them just as much as you were trying to convince yourself that you didn’t waste $20k on an…
The Porsche is 1/8th scale. So 28mph is like 224mph if scaled up to a full size car. I want to see how it holds up to crash test scaled down 65mph=8.125
I tried to add collector car insurance to my 06 GTO and it was pretty spendy because it was “newish” and they figured that I would drive it more than my 59 Bug (that was already insured through them).
I don’t see that. A lot of Challengers, Camaros, and Mustangs are sold to guys who like the old muscle cars but don’t wrench on them, so they get something new and reliable. Either a few guys do bolt ons or take it to a shop to make it faster. Very few do their own work.
Mikes are assholes and rarely get along with other mikes.
I drove a 2006 viper and was disappointed in the lack of power I felt. Its gear real high so maybe that’s why it didn’t “feel” fast. Its also a very big car to drive and feels enormous compared to a vette. I still want to drive another viper before I say that I don’t like them, but I was hoping it would be a rip my…
My friend picked up a 08 Z06 about 5 months ago. He bought it with an aftermarket warranty and had the valve guides fixed under warranty at a performance shop. While they were there, they ported and polished the heads and replaced the valves with 1 piece valves. I think it cost him less than $1500 for all the work. It…
Im giving you a star but youll live with knowing that this song is stuck in my head now.
I do the same all the time. “1990? So 10 years ago.... oh wait.”
Flipper?! I know him as James...
