It’s not just the E60/E61. The E83, F25, E70, and F15 all had issues with water leaks. A lot of the time it would be around the windshield or sunroof/pano roof. Water could go into the footwell or dashboard through the A pillar but there were other problems too.
BMW has lots of issues with water intrusion. 5 series, X3, and X5 from multiple generations.
I know we like to point at Alfa and out them with every reliability issue because it fulfills our preconceived notions about them and their past.
