Its one thing to simply avoid something that you don't really need because you have ethical qualms with it . Its another to endanger your life or majorly sacrifice your quality of life because of it.

I'm not liking the aesthetic of this movie. I guess we all have our own interpretations but when I read the book I judged from the technology level and military setting and imagined something looking more like the sets in Aliens or the inside of an actual modern space station like the ISS.

Are those planes F-35's? Does that fit with the timeline? Its been a LONG time since I read the book but I think I might remember that the first invasion happened when we had spaceships already (albeit smaller ones). Also, I'm almost certain the Buggers sent a single ship, rather than a fleet.

If I were 72 years old (Aso) in a country struggling to cope with an aging population I'd STFU.

Just because young people behave a certain way doesn't mean old people with young bodies would.

This seemed relevant:

I'm not that much of a Trekkie but I think there was an episode of TNG where the Klingons had a civil war and the federation refused to intervene because the prime directive forbids interference with internal conflicts.

Now playing

I found this by accident a while back a remembered the tune (the song was used in the trailer to a game I play).

I'm a dude who finds pale skin on girls incredibly cute. I'd love to see the tanning trend bite the dust.
