I have a bluetooth receiver dongle that plugs into the aux-in on my headunit. I recharge it occasionally (or just keep it plugged into a micro-USB car charger). My iPhone sends audio output via A2DP to the dongle. A phone call will pause the audio and the handsfree bluetooth in the car will handle the call.
