People are dumb. It says right on the window of the car that it’ll save them ‘on average’ a few thousand bucks over 5 years compared to an SUV. Want an extra vacation? buy a car not an SUV. Want a hot tub? Buy a car not an SUV.

These “SUV” lineups are not the same as the ‘90s and ‘00s. Most of the crossovers out there are only marginally less efficient than the equivalent sedan/hatchback/wagon. I doubt even $5 gas will create the kind of mpg panic we saw then. And if it does, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the innumerate dumping gas cars for

I wonder how much this would change if gas was close to $5.00 per gallon. It seems in the past that people who are poor at math (most of America) would take a huge loss selling their gas guzzling SUV to buy a new more fuel-efficient car. If gas goes up again, will this happen or will people get better at math?

I'm thinking that a guy who bankrupted three casinos probably shouldn't be in charge of trade agreements.

People like to buy the best of each category, perceived or reality it doesn’t matter. They tend to gravitate to imports when it comes to sedans and domestics when it comes to trucks.

This is what dementia looks like.

None of the world leaders are actually “mad” at MBS for killing Khashoggi, they’re mad because it was so obvious and sloppy and public. This has the other world leaders on the ropes trying to do PR/balance local opinion.

Not a Toyota fan boi,  but I remember the 1997 was a step down  from the 1996.

I respectfully disagree with the statement that Toyota didn’t change much about the “Lexus-ification” of the 1992 Camry. The 1997 model was a downgrade from the 1996, and the 2002 even worse.

I’ve said this before but it bears repeating. This administration is simply malevolence tempered by incompetence.

Amazing how such a devoted Ayn Rand disciple, who believes so strongly in bootstraps and people not relying on the government, is going to take a cushy legislator pension into retirement. In addition to the Social Security he got as a minor when his dad died and used to pay for college.

He is a coward, a liar and a sadist.

If it’s protected speech, and they’re proud of it, unblur their faces.

Which is why the whole idea of good guys with guns acting like superheros to stop bad guys with guns is a load of bollocks. The police arriving at the scene of a shooting has no way of distinguishing good guys from bad guys, and no time to be figuring it all out. So, they let their implicit bias (or explicit bias aka

In the next day or two, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out Bradford was being a hero, a good guy with a gun chasing the actual gunman. But, you know, he was black, so by definition, not a good guy.

Yeah, sounds familiar.

Tough to tell if you’re joking or not.  Trump has a zero percent chance of winning in 2020.

My (probably undue) fear is that he loses by a slight margin and declares himself the winner, and then we enter the authoritarian phase of American history.

Saving $1000 is an amazing baby step for someone starting their financial journey. This is directed at the people who live paycheck to paycheck (78% of the US according to the study I read). People who have to take a payday loan if they run the heater too long and get a high electric bill. People who can’t afford a

Still better than a republican.
