Holy shit. This is the perfect analogy.
Holy shit. This is the perfect analogy.
Yep, yep, yep. And the press has played the part of the friend “who doesn’t want to take sides.”
Well, if the press never called Trump on his lies or point out reality, then Trump’s followers would have no reason to kill them.
Well, in my experience you occasionally can. But you always have to call the willful obtuseness out when you see it. You have to be willing to say “Look, we can’t even have a discussion, because it’s obvious from the outset that you don’t want a discussion. What you want is to repeat whatever it was that Sean Hannity…
That sounds word for word conversations we’ve had with my Father in law. They are usually followed by conversations about how he is in debt because he gave money to the latest get reach scheme ad he saw on the internet. My wife hates it when I point out the direct correlation with him being taken in by get rich quick…
Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.
“But those kind of tasks can be hard for me to do if I’m not enthusiastic about it.”
you can’t start putting the responsibility of individuals on anybody but the individual who carried out the crime.
As I said, this monster can’t go five minutes without reverting back to form. He’s Hitler’s faulty clone. Fucktard McFuckface needs to go. Him, Pence, and every asshat they’ve appointed since January 20th 2017. If we can’t vote out every single Republican on the tickets in a few days... then we better prepare for…
These Republicans want to destroy healthcare, bankrupt families, kill family members, reduce wages, obliterate job security and benefits, lock babies in cages, use the armed forces against refugees, destroy Medicare and Social Security, and steal from the poor to give to the rich, all while ruining the lives of…
Sadly, few ever notice or use credit unions. I’ve been with one, happily, for 20 years and have saved a fortune. Nobody I know can say “my bank” and “happy” in the same sentence...
Come on, can you really blame us when all we did was replace their governments with fascist death squads while funding and actively orchestrating decades-long civil wars conducted largely by School of the Americas-trained battalions of torture-enthusiasts?
Ironic that an organization that employs so many immigrants is being used to keep immigrants from getting into the country.
The thing that pisses me off to no end, is people who demonize these folks have no fucking clue how American foreign policy has contributed directly to the violence and poverty they are escaping from.
At some point, the American people and yes, even the Trump chuds, have to wake up to the fact that what we do beyond…
“Do what you love, and you never work a day in your life.”
We can’t get troops to protect us from armed Nazis and KKKlansmen, but by god, we will stop the glacierly flow of women and children fleeing Trumps ordained “shitholes.”
Unless of course we can use them as cheap labor in the meat processing plants.
There is nothing the US loves more than sending it’s troops to stand around in the desert and harass random, poor, brown people.
Public banking would be the best option, but like the public option, it’s too much a shock to the establishment. Baby steps, you know.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking of - the post office bank idea. I am not well versed on how the banking industry really works so I am not sure the broader implications of it all.
It sounds similar to the Postal Banking idea in that they’re trying to exploit existing retail locations (your local post office; your local credit union) rather than incurring the cost of either buying or renting, and then furnishing, a bunch of new locations.
