But will they let you drive it, T? How do we mend this fence?
The world of cars and watches is about authenticity. Originality. I strongly disagree.
Good lord. This is a tricky bit of business. We see a lot of these replica speedsters in California. So many in fact, I know a couple guys who don't want to buy real speedsters because they don't want folks to think they are driving a fake one!
My dream is to someday reunite the XKSS with the driveway of McQueen's former Brentwood home. (The Castle. See Lusso Pics) for a photoshoot. I know all parties required to make that happen. Now it's just a matter of wearing them down.
There's a rumor the Leno test drive cost $60k, just for the insurance coverage. Sadly we could not write that check without affecting my jacket budget.
Saw 3 people driving Delorean's last week in Los Angeles. Mid-week, daily driving. Most notably a middle-aged mom type. I got the impression none of them were driving it ironically. Has the Delorean finally arrived?
Full time Television writer, but lifelong car guy. Helping friends find cars is just a hobby for me. Now my hobby is being filmed I guess. I'm really into classic cars with an emphasis on driving them as much as possible until the great comet hits and I am pulverized into ash.
I really want to see inside Youabian Puma guy's house. The couches, the clothes. This guy needs his own catalog of personally designed products. Imagine what he could do if he made sneakers. Giant Mongoose-y dune buggies are just the beginning for this misunderstood genius.
Ha. Clarifying. Prius is for my wife (but I'm a fan). I murdered out an Audi Q7 for a family "school bus" and I drive my GT3RS or '71 Series 2A or other old gassy machines when I'm by myself.
Totally backpedaling. Ha. But I do love green cars like the Leaf. LA is so much nice without the smog.
Wow. That's quite a list. There might be something more than wrong car choices going on here. I would suggest you pick your favorite car from the list and search in that direction. Off the top of my head and not knowing you at all, I would guess Suburu is the right family for you. Search in their garage. But try to…
Your response is valid. I wish way more normies drove cool cars, but as you know it's either in your blood or not. Car matchmaking is like people matchmaking, if someone is truly happy with their choice who am I to argue? (I will just hate on them ruthlessly behind their back.)
Tom, you're great at this! Love watching you work.
You'll know when you find it because Esquire Magazine subscription cards will start falling out of your TV
Yeah, I think I misspoke there. I meant to say I like what the car is about, and that since gas here in West LA is sometimes 6 bucks a gallon, we'd save money running errands in the car. But yeah, ugly as a... well... as a Nissan Leaf. My wife got the Prius BTW, not me.
Hi Big Block. I was dealing with a non car guy, and had to hand him an easy choice. He went from a white jaguar XF with a tan interior, to a black/black Range Rover sport. Simple little color switch for a more manly family car. Late 90's Defender would have been awesome.
Skinny jeans are no longer a reality for me. I eat too much pie.
Ha, I doubt any jalops really need my advice. Look in your oil-filled heart for the answer
I apologize for the ridiculous shirt! First day of shooting. I didn't have the courage to say "no".
