I think you just bought the wrong beater in that XC70, though from the one pic it does look in decent shape. Even with a replacement motor I would fear a 15+ year old Volvo is going to continue to nickel/dime you to death. It’s all sunk-cost fallacy at this point.

Unfortunately they don’t have the 7year/100k warranty any longer. When I bought my car in 2015 it was a CPO and that warranty was awesome. Used it to repair front struts, airbag module, and a somewhat noisy AC Compressor. Dealer just fixed stuff, no questions asked.

My 2012 s60 has been fine, a few issues here and there but overall very solid with just over 80,000 miles. The 5 and 6 cylinder motors from that era are pretty stout, however the early 2.0 liter 4 cylinders (“drive-e” motors) have issues with gulping oil.

I’ve had my 2012 s60 T6 for about 5 years now and agree 100%, the center stack is awesome. I can adjust everything by touch without taking my eyes off the road, the waterfall style is unique, and the cubby behind it fits sunglasses perfectly. Mock all you want, but I’ll take the Volvo buttons and dials over a

Agreed, based on just the pictures above I 100% take the Isuzu over the Mazda, cool looking truck

GTO looks nice man, shame it met such an unfortunate end! But I know what you mean 100%, I used to daily drive mine back when I was in my 20s and it was fine, but now that I’m in my late 30s I am happy to have a quick yet comfortable Volvo sedan as my daily.  If I were forced to have just one car I’d end up selling

Dang sorry about your GTO, tough way to lose it, the Torrid Red is a slick color especially when you have some black to break it up.  What did you replace it with?

At least Jeep had the good sense to knock it off with the funky headlights after a few years. I think the current Cherokee is actually a really good looking vehicle now, especially in Trailhawk guise. Now I would never buy one as from what I understand the rest of Cherokee is hot garbage, but appearance-wise I think

Oh wait a minute, I misunderstood, thought it was referring to first-gear feeling locked out when trying to shift back into first from neutral...I’ve gotten that from time to time, just put it back into neutral, let the clutch out, and try again, I’ve never had first gear not fully engage like that in my GTO or my

I’d never heard of the “first gear kick-out” term before, apparently it refers to issues getting the car back into first gear when sitting at a stoplight, and yeah I’ve had that happen periodically, annoying for sure, but helps remind me to keep paying attention even while sitting at a red light.....so maybe its more

The M12 in my GTO isn’t bad once it warms up for about 10 minutes, and I’ve never had it grind or pop out of gear when cold, it just doesn’t feel happy, so I take it easy for the first few miles. Running recommended GM fluid in it and I bleed my clutch probably once a year, I remember my 1998 Z28 being the same way.

To be fair aren’t all manual transmissions pretty clunky until the car warms up?

You would think law enforcement has plans in place regarding how to handle different aspects of protests, and that after Charlottesville you hope those plans include how to neutralize possible threats involving vehicles.

Aren’t there better and less destructive ways to immobilize these vehicles though?  For example, maybe use some parking boots to make sure the cars stayed in place.....I imagine those are readily available from the parking enforcement department.

Exactly. This is right in line with their “better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6" logic that police love to use when they go into shoot first ask questions later mode.

Disagree. If this were a Buick Century of similar age/miles then yes, no real value. But I think these Regal GS cars were special, primarily due to the supercharged 3800, and still have a fan-base.  In my opinion the $5,500 is right in the range of “pay this because good luck finding another one this clean” money.

Dang, yeah I think I’d rather deal with no overdrive!

This is a NP for somebody. Incredibly low miles for one of these, and so long as it hasn’t seen salt the body should be good (rocker panels were notorious for disintegrating on this era of W-Body cars)

And here I thought nothing could ever be uglier than the 2019 Camaro SS grille.....I stand corrected BMW!

Kia Forte GT is the first car I would go test-drive if I was looking for a sub-$400/month payment and didn’t need a TON of room. Really sharp car, positive reviews, all of the fun of an Elantra GT before Hyundai up and ruined the looks!
